About Our Peace of Heart™ Award
Every two years, griefHaven has a meaningful and joyous gala where its prestigious Peace of Heart™ Award is given to one special individual. The person who receives this award has either personally done something or been a major part of something that has impacted people’s lives for the better, giving them a deeper sense of hope. We call it giving people “peace of heart.” This person is chosen by the griefHaven Board of Directors.
Peace of Heart Award Symbology:
Upside-Down Gold Heart - Represents a heavy heart—a heart in grief.
Upward Slope - Represents the difficulty and challenge of the grief journey.
First Person Pushing Heart Upward - Represents the griever pushing their heavy, upside-down heart along the grief journey.
Second Person Behind Griever - Represents the compassionate and caring person who supports the griever, helping to lighten the load and let him or her know they are not alone.
People at the Top - At some point, the griever will reach a point along their journey and see others who have gone before them who are experiencing joy, and who have, with support and love, turned their upside-down grieving hearts right-side up again.
About Our Heart-to-Heart™ Award
At the same gala, griefHaven presents a second award called the Heart-to-Heart™ Award. This award is given to one special individual who has made an ongoing and significant contribution to griefHaven’s message and work. This person is chosen by the griefHaven Board of Directors.
Heart-to-Heart Symbology
Right-Side-Up Gold Heart – This represents a grieving heart that has been turned right-side up again.
Person Holding Heart – This represents the person who has given support to griefHaven grievers helping them turn their upside-down grieving hearts right-side up again.
With hope, love, and support, we can turn our upside-down grieving hearts right side up again.
